This isn’t the step-siblings us fans of the 1999 cult classic “Cruel Intentions” are use to, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be just as entertaining.
Prime Video unveiled the first look at their upcoming series Cruel Intentions that will take the concept of original and give it a new ruthless chapter. Two decades after original film, the series will introduce a “new class of cruel characters who are ready to take their games and manipulation to a whole new level.” The premise of the series follows elite students of Manchester College, a Washington, D.C.-adjacent university, where reputation means everything, fraternities and sororities are the gold standard, and two ruthless step-siblings, Caroline Merteuil (Sarah Catherine Hook) and Lucien Belmont (Zac Burgess), will do anything to stay on top of the cutthroat social hierarchy.
Following a brutal hazing incident, the entire Greek Life system is threatened leaving Caroline and Lucien to take drastic measures to preserve their power including seducing Annie Grover (Savannah Lee Smith), the daughter of the Vice President of the United States. Manchester College will never be the same. Sara Silva, John Harlan Kim, Khobe Clarke, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Brooke Lena Johnson are also featured in the cast.
All eight episodes of Prime Video’s Cruel Intentions will be available on Thursday, November 21.
