The 2024 BET Awards aired Sunday, June 30 with host Taraji P. Henson at the Peacock Theater in Los Angles. The night, which celebrates Black culture and artistry in music, film, and sports, honored Usher with a Lifetime Achievement Award acknowledging his illustrious career in the industry.

Before Usher took the stage to accept the award, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis started the presentation by introducing a video that showcased his career. Then a 15 minute plus performance segment featured Childish Gambino, Keke Palmer, Summer Walker, Coco Jones, Marsha Ambrosius, Chlöe, Tinashe, Teyana Taylor with Victoria Monet, and Latto doing renditions of some of Usher’s biggest hits like “U Don’t Have to Call,” “You Make Me Wanna,” “There Goes My Baby,” “Superstar,” “Good Kisser,” and “Bad Girl.” It was definetly an entertaining tribute.
