This Viral Walton Goggins Moment Convinced Me To Binge Watch ‘Vice Principals’

Often times I use GIFs or reaction clips and I’m fully aware of where that moment came from. Some times there are those I might stumble on by accident when watching a TV show or movie and am tickled to see the stamped moment in context. Then there are those I have no reference for and will convince me to find out because the clip is too funny. That’s the case with the recent viral Walton Goggins reaction clip.

There was a brief clip circulating on Twitter that showed Walton Goggins reacting to a demonic figure at first looking shocked but then turned away with pursed lips. People in the comments of the clip went on and on about the show that clip came from and it was enough to convince me to binge watch Vice Principals on Max.

Walton Goggins stars in Vice Principals as Lee Russell alongside Danny McBride as Neal Gamby. The show had two seasons that aired in 2016 and 2017 and follows two vice principals vying for the position of principal of their school when the current one steps down in the first season. They are blindsiding when Dr. Belinda Brown (Kimberly Hebert Gregory) is announced as the new head of school and plot together to get her fired or have her leave. Season two takes a different turn and becomes sort of an attempted murder mystery, so I enjoyed the first season much more. All the while Danny McBride had some funny moments, but hands down the sassy and over the top demeanor of Goggins’ Lee Russell stole the show.

The viral moment came from season one, episode 4 where Russell is trying to sabotage the football team by lacing their drink with liquid LSD in hope they will lose an important game and principal Brown will be the blame. At first Gamby is on board but changes his mind. In a tussle to stop Russell, the drink spills on both of the guys and they start tripping out resulting in a hilarious sequence. That moment alone was worth getting into the show.
