Rian Johnson first got audiences hooked on his murder mystery universe with his 2019 Oscar nominated film “Knives Out” which followed famed fictional detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig, investigating the death of the patriarch of an eccentric family.

Benoit Blanc’s keen deducting skills took him to a private Greek island in “Glass Onion” in 2022 to solve yet another murder connected to a tech billionaire and his close group of friends. We might not know exactly where Blanc’s next case will take us, but we know it’s coming next year and it’s his most dangerous one yet.

In a title announcement from Netflix, Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc can be heard going through the brief, yet exciting “Knives Out” universe. The voice over said, “In the beginning the knives came out, then behold the glass was shattered, but my most dangerous case yet is about to be revealed.” The title “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” was shown at the end of the announcement.

The only thing for certain right now is Daniel Craig will return as Benoit Blanc. In the past the “Knives Out” films have featured the likes of Chris Evans, Kate Hudson, Janelle Monáe, Kathyrn Hahn, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ana de Armas, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Christopher Plummer, Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Katherine Langford, and Jaden Martell, so another stellar ensemble cast is expected.

“Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” comes to Netflix in 2025.
