Julio Torres’ Upcoming HBO Series ‘Fantasmas’ Teases A Trippy Journey in NYC

I’ve never done heavy drugs, but I feel like HBO’s upcoming series Fantasmas is on the lines of an out of this world triply experience.

Created, directed by and starring Julio Torres, Fantasmas is slated as a comedy in a “fantastical six-part tale” about how the character Julio lost a gold oyster earring. While Julio searches for the precious object he reflects on the offbeat characters he encounters in an alternative New York City during the odyssey. Furthermore, Fantasmas ” weaves together stories of people looking for meaning, purpose, and connection in an increasingly isolating world.”

Alongside Julio Torres, Martine Gutierrez,Tomas Matos, and Joe Rumrill will star with a stacked list of guest stars including Steve Buscemi, Paul Dano, Julia Fox, Alexa Demie, Emma Stone, Aidy Bryant, Bowen Yang, Kim Petras, and Ziwe.

Fantasmas premieres Friday, June 7 at 11pm EST on HBO and available to stream on Max. New episodes drop weekly.
