The ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Official Teaser Trailer Has Viewers Calling it A Dark ‘La La Land’

The first official teaser trailer for “Joker: Folie à Deux” starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga has people buzzing for two reasons: the film looks like a dark version of the 2016 film “La La Land” and the absolutely perfect shot during the final moments of the trailer when Gaga’s character draws a lipstick smile that perfectly align’s with Joaquin’s character on a divider glass.

“Joker: Folie à Deux” is a sequel to the 2019 film “Joker” where Joaquin Phoenix played Arthur Fleck, the failed comedian who turned to a life of crime in Gotham City. In the upcoming film, slated to be a musical, Gaga will take on the role of Harley Quinn, the Joker’s notorious partner in crime as the pair wreck havoc in Gotham. Directed by Todd Phillips and written by Phillips and Scott Silver, Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, Ken Leung, and Steve Coogan will also appear in “Joker: Folie à Deux,” coming to theaters on October 4, 2024.
