I have a confession to make. I’ve never watched a “Ghostbusters” movie. I know they are who you need to call when a ghost is around, but I could not tell you any of the names of the original characters. There have been reboots and extensions of the original and even a virtual experience I went to in 2016, but still the films weren’t something I gravitated towards. This week I attended a screening for the newest film in the franchise, “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
The film blends old Ghostbusters with new ones and stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd, Annie Potts, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, and Emily Alyn Lind. The official synopsis reads, “When the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second ice age.”
Leaving my first “Ghostbusters” movie I was very impressed. I found the characters so funny and the plot towards the end very endearing. If you’re a Ghostbusters fan then this is a love letter just for you. Read my full review of “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” over on Popternative.com HERE.
