When the weather starts to get really nice it’s when we step into festival season. For the better part of spring throughout the summer months, there are a plethora of music festivals you can attend that span across the U.S. One of those festivals takes place in the city of Brotherly Love.
The Roots Picnic has expanded from a one-day event into a two-day celebration since its 2008 inception created by the legendary Philly-bred band The Roots. An eclectic blend of artists gather in Philadelphia for a weekend, usually at the beginning of June, giving music fans a taste of newer and iconic artists.
For the 2024 Roots Picnic Jill Scott aka Jilly from Philly, Lil Wayne, and Nas are slated as the headliners. Other acts taking one of three stages scattered throughout the venue include Victoria Monét, Fantasia, Babyface, Method Man, Redman, Muni Long, Gunna, Wale, Sexyy Red, Tyla, and a special performance by André 3000.
The Roots Picnic takes place Saturday, June 1 through Sunday, June 2 at the Mann Center. Tickets start at $225 for a two-day general admission pass and VIP passes start at $999. Doors open at 1pm and tickets are on sale now.
