As a cat person, how could I not be interested in a film titled “Cat Person.” I remember when the film was announced back in August 2023 I was intrigued by the concept, but when the movie hit theaters I never got a chance to see it. Now I can when the film comes to Hulu next month.
Directed by Susanna Fogel with a screenplay by Michelle Ashford and based on the New Yorker short story by Kristen Roupenian, “Cat Person” stars Emilia Jones and Nicholas Braun. In the film, Jones plays Margot, a college sophomore who sparks a relationship with an older guy named Robert (Braun). Things take a turn when Robert’s toxic traits start to reach the surface. Geraldine Viswanathan, Isabella Rossellini, Hope Davis, Christopher Shyer, Liza Koshy, Josh Andrés Rivera, and Melissa Lehman make up the ensemble cast.
I was able to find the original New Yorker story and read it about a month ago, so I’m excited to finally be able to see it all play out.
“Cat Person” streams on Hulu on February 9.
