‘Eternal Sunshine’: Ariana Grande Announces The Title and Release of AG 7

The new era of Ariana Grande is coming sooner than I thought it would be with her seventh studio album releasing in early March.

Almost a week after dropping her first new single in 3 years, Grande shared a photo on Instagram that is believed to be the album cover with a title and release date. Eternal Sunshine is set to drop on March 8 and is listed to have 13 tracks. On Friday, January 12 Grande released the first single from the upcoming album “yes, and?” with mixed reactions from fans, myself included.

Now to the title of Ari’s album. Anyone who knows a bit about the singer knows she loves Jim Carrey and if you know Carrey’s filmography the title seems to be a clear homage to the 2004 film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” In the movie Carrey’s character Joel goes through a medical procedure to erase his ex-girlfriend Clementine (Kate Winslet) from his memory; a procedure Clementine has in fact done on herself. It’s an interesting film about wanting to get rid of the painful parts of our lives but in the end, wanting to maintain some of the happier moments that came from that pain. We’ll see if any of Ari’s personal life revelations show up as themes on her album.

Eternal Sunshine will be available to purchase and on digital download on March 8.
