Awards show season has officially begun with the 81st Golden Globe Awards. The show aired live on Sunday, January 7 with host Jo Koy as the night celebrated the best in television and film over the past year.
Since its 1952 and 2019 inception, respectively, there was no recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award or Carol Burnett Award, but many other monumental wins happened throughout the show. It was a big night for leading co-stars. Ayo Edebiri and Jeremy Allen White took home Globes for The Bear in the Best Performance in the Musical or Comedy category in TV. Ali Wong and Steven Yeun won in the Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television category for Beef. A major accomplishment for Wong as she was the first Asian actress to win for that award. Da’Vine Joy Randolph also earned her first nomination and win for “The Holdovers.”
Succession scored big as well with Sarah Snook and Kieran Culkin winning for TV drama and Oppenheimer swept in basically every category.
Congratulations to all the winners of the 81st Golden Globe Awards. Check out the full list of winners below. Did your favorites win? Share your thoughts in the comments.
