It’s been a drought for Zendaya fans. I mean not that she’s been super social online in 2023 anyway, but she can still be missed nonetheless. In 2024 however, the Zendaya Era is here. The 27-year-old has not one but two films coming out this year, both were pushed from their original 2023 release due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, and that means she’ll soon embark on a press tour. First up is “Dune: Part Two” coming out on March 1, but I’m more interested in “Challengers” coming out in late April.

Written by Justin Kuritzkes and directed by Luca Guadagnino (“Call Me by Your Name,” “Bones and All“), “the art of seduction and other games” comes to the big screen in “Challengers” starring Zendaya (Euphoria, “Malcolm & Marie”), Josh O’Connor (The Crown, “God’s Own Country”), and Mike Faist (“West Side Story,” Panic).

The official synopsis for “Challengers” reads, “Follows three players who knew each other when they were teenagers as they compete in a tennis tournament to be the world-famous grand slam winner, and reignite old rivalries on and off the court.” It’s basically sex and tennis and I’m ok with that. I want to see Z in more adult roles so I’m invested. She posted the official poster on her Instagram page with the film’s release date and a New Year’s message.

“Challengers” comes to theaters, finally, on April 26, 2024.
