Happy Birthday Rachel McAdams!
Rachel McAdams slayed as Regina George in the 2004 film “Mean Girls” then turned around and devoured her role as Allie in “The Notebook” the same year. Talk about iconic. Throughout her career, the Canada-born actress has shown off her funny side, her vulnerable side, and even her diabolical side. All are some of the reasons why she’s such a beloved figure in Hollywood. For Rachel’s 45th birthday I’m sharing some movie recommendations you should check out. Below are 5 Rachel McAdams movie recommendations from Glambergirlblog. (All films are available for digital rental and purchase, streaming platforms listed available at time of post)
“Game Night” (2018)
Such an unbelievably funny film. “Game Night” takes a typical game night between friends and flips it in a way you’ll never see coming. This ensemble cast was so perfectly put together and Rachel showed off her comedic chops in a way that hasn’t been seen since “Mean Girls.” (Watch on The Roku Channel)
“About Time” (2013)
Talk about a tear-jerker. Rachel and Domhnall Gleeson pair well in the time traveler rom-com “About Time.” This film is such a beautiful story about how important it is to see the brighter side of things and to enjoy each moment in life.
“The Family Stone” (2005)
Maybe my favorite holiday movie, “The Family Stone” is about a conservative woman named Meredith (Sarah Jessica Parker) who goes home for the holidays with her boyfriend Everett (Dermot Mulroney) and tries to fit in with his unconventional family. Rachel plays Amy, the sort of bratty sister who goes out of her way to make Meredith’s stay a living hell but that tough girl exterior breaks when Meredith hands out her Christmas gifts to everyone. Literally, I cry every time! (Watch on Hulu)
“Wedding Crashers” (2005)
Who knew getting into a wedding could be so easy and hilarious. John (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy (Vince Vaughn) crash weddings for a fun, but everything changes when they crash the Cleary wedding and John falls for Claire (McAdams).
“Red Eye” (2005)
You never know who you’re sitting next to on a plane or what they did to make sure you were in that exact position. What starts off as a seemingly innocent connection between strangers turns into a thrill ride of life and death and Rachel’s character Lisa did what needed to be done. (Watch on MGM+ and Paramount+)
