The New ‘Anyone But You’ Trailer Is Restoring Faith In The Rom-Com Film

The discourse for “Anyone But You” has been the most up and down that I’ve seen for a rom-com in a while and now that the official trailer for the film has been released I think viewers can rest assured that the film might not be that bad.

Based on Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” Will Gluck directed “Anyone But You” with a story by Ilana Wolpert and screenplay by Ilana Wolpert and Will Gluck. The film follows Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell) who have an amazing first date but the attraction turns cold after an unknown event. Unexpectedly they find themselves at a destination wedding in Australia when they decide to pretend to be a couple. The new trailer definitely got some laughs from me, but I think this movie would do better as a streamer.

Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Hadley Robinson, Michelle Hurd, Dermot Mulroney, Darren Barnet, and Rachel Griffiths make up the ensemble cast. “Anyone But You” comes to theaters on December 22, 2023.
