Dinner is served in Eli Roth’s latest film Thanksgiving. The slasher flick can be added to the growing list of holiday horror films while standing out on its own as the first feature film centered on Thanksgiving.
Directed by Eli Roth with the story by Roth and Jeff Rendell (co-writer of the Thanksgiving short), and screenplay by Jeff Rendell, Thanksgiving stars Patrick Dempsey, Gina Gershon, Rick Hoffman, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Tomaso Sanelli, Jeff Teravainen, Nell Verlaque, Karen Cliche, Jenna Warren, and Gabriel Davenport.
Thanksgiving takes place at the birthplace of the holiday in Plymouth, Massachusetts. After a deadly Black Friday event a masked pilgrim dressed in the face of John Carver is hellbent on revenge picking off Plymouth residents one by one. If you’re a fan of horror films, specifically slasher films then you’ll love everything about this movie. I got to go to an early screening of Thanksgiving and you can read my full review over on Popternative.com. (Read HERE).
There will be no leftovers this holiday. “Thanksgiving” is in theaters on Friday, November 17, 2023.
