This holiday season a masked killer is carving up a deliciously dark feast of gore in “Thanksgiving.” Directed by Eli Roth (“Cabin Fever,” “Hostel,” “Green Inferno”), with the story by Roth and Jeff Rendell (writer of the “Thanksgiving” short), and screenplay by Jeff Rendell, “Thanksgiving” is an upcoming horror flick that will take the beloved family holiday and make is scary.
Last month a teaser for the film dropped and now the official trailer previews a lot of what is going to happen in the film. The official synopsis for the movie reads, “After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the holiday. Picking off residents one by one, what begins as random revenge killings are soon revealed to be part of a larger, sinister holiday plan. Will the town uncover the killer and survive the holidays…or become guests at his twisted holiday dinner table?”
The concept of “Thanksgiving” comes from the fake trailer that was featured in the 2007 double feature “Grindhouse” by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman, and Gina Gershon make up the ensemble cast.
“Thanksgiving” is slated for a November 22, 2023 release.
