For those out there who are like me and have no interest in football; the Super Bowl is all about the commercials and the Halftime Show. In 2024 the show is heading to Las Vegas and will feature a music heavyweight to hold down the 13-15-minute running time.
Usher revealed on Sunday that he would be the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show headliner in a way that paid homage to himself. Using the infamous intro from his 2004 “Confessions Part II” music video, Usher from the present spoke with Usher from the past and shared that he would be the Halftime headliner.
In other videos promoting the announcement, the same “Confessions Part II” video segment was used with Kim Kardashian, Odell Beckham Jr., Deion Sanders, and Marshawn Lynch. Recent performers of the Super Bowl Halftime Show include Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and The Weeknd.
During an Apple Music interview, Usher talked about his upcoming performance, a new album called Coming Home, and more.
Super Bowl LVIII airs on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
