The end is near and it’s time to finish together. The fourth and final season of Netflix’s Sex Education is coming to the streaming service next week

Sex Education creator Laurie Nunn told Tudum that during the process of creating season 4, she felt the stories were coming to an end saying, “The characters were being left in a place that I felt really good about it. I felt happy for them, and I felt like I’ve said everything that I want to say with these characters at this time.” The show follows teen Otis (Asa Butterfield) and his sex therapist mother Jean (Gillian Anderson) and how her profession rubbed off on her son as he started an underground business at Moordale High helping the teens around him with their sexual problems.

In season 4, the timeline has jumped a couple of months. While Maeve (Emma Mackey) is in America going off to study, the Moordale Secondary students are embarking on a new adventure of their own at the “progressive and woke” Cavendish College, a school “very different” from Moordale.

Along with Anderson, Butterfield, and Mackey, Aimee Lou Wood, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene, Ncuti Gatwa, Alistair Petrie, Conor Swindells, Chinenye Ezeudu, George Robison, Dua Saleh, and Samantha Spiro are returning to the series. Anthony Lexa, Felix Mufti, Alexandra James, Thaddea Graham, and Dan Levy as some of the new faces joining the cast.

The fourth and final season of Sex Education will have 8 episodes with the final episode running for 83 minutes; the show premieres Thursday, September 21 on Netflix.
