One of the best things about horror movies for me is how any holiday can be incorporated into the genre turning it from something special to sinister. Directed by Eli Roth (“Cabin Fever,” “Hostel,” “Green Inferno”), and written by Roth and Jeff Rendell (writer of the “Thanksgiving” short), “Thanksgiving” is an upcoming horror flick that will have no leftovers.

The concept of “Thanksgiving” comes from the fake trailer that was featured in the 2007 double feature “Grindhouse” by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. The official synopsis for the full length version of the film reads, “After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday.”

Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman and Gina Gershon make up the ensemble cast. “Thanksgiving” comes to theaters on November 17, 2023.
