As an unapologetic cat person if I see a movie titled that then you already have my full attention.
Directed by Susanna Fogel with a screenplay by Michelle Ashford based on the New Yorker short story by Kristen Roupenian, “Cat Person” is an upcoming genre-bending horror story that showcases the terrors of modern dating.
In “Cat Person,” college sophomore Margot (Emilia Jones) goes on a date with an older guy named Robert (Nicholas Braun). Soon Margot finds out Robert’s pristine online presence doesn’t match his real life persona. The movie is slated to be a “a razor-sharp exploration of the gender divide, the quagmire of navigating modern dating and the dangerous projections we make in our minds about the person at the other end of our phones.”
Geraldine Viswanathan, Isabella Rossellini, Hope Davis, Christopher Shyer, Liza Koshy, Josh Andrés Rivera, and Melissa Lehman make up the ensemble cast.
“Cat Person” comes to theaters on October 6, 2023.
