Apple TV+ released the official trailer for The Crowded Room today so it’s almost time to unveil the mystery because “the facts are never the whole story.”
The 10-episode gripping limited series stars and is executive produced by Tom Holland. Created by Akiva Goldsman, The Crowded Room follows Danny Sullivan (Holland), “a man who is arrested following his involvement in a shooting in New York City in 1979,” according to Apple TV+. Amanda Seyfried plays Rya Goodwin, the investigator tasked with revealing the elements that shaped Danny into the man he is. Told through a series of interviews, the twists and turns of the show will lead to a ” life-altering revelation” for Danny.
Holland’s character Danny is based on Billy Milligan, the first person ever acquitted of a crime because of multiple personality disorder (now known as dissociative identity disorder). The series will shed light on the stigmas of mental health.
Sasha Lane, Will Chase, Lior Raz, Jason Isaacs, Christopher Abbott, and Thomas Sadoski make up the ensemble cast. Three episodes of The Crowded Room will stream on Apple TV+ on Friday, June 9 with the rest of the season getting a weekly rollout every Friday through July 28, 2023.
