The third season of HBO’s The White Lotus revealed its first cast member for the upcoming season and it’s a familiar face from the series.
Variety reported Natasha Rothwell is returning to the Mike White-created series to reprise her season one character Belinda Lindsey. In the first season of The White Lotus, which premiered in July 2021, Rothwell’s character Belinda was a spa manager who sparked an unexpected co-dependent relationship with Jennifer Coolidge‘s Tanya McQuoid character. Tanya promised Belinda an opportunity for her to open her own wellness center only to be left disappointed when Tanya reneged. Fans have been wanting justice for Belinda ever since she got heartbroken in season one and this might be time for redemption.
Season three of The White Lotus will be set in Thailand and will have themes that focus on “death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”
The White Lotus was initially set to be a limited series when the show debuted but the success led HBO to continue it as an anthology series that features a new cast and location each season. The Primetime Emmy-winning series follows the exploits of resort guests and employees at White Lotus locations over the course of a week; usually ending in a tragic death of a mystery person revealed in the final episode. Coolidge and Jon Gries were the first to reprise their series roles and now the show seems to have a running theme of former characters returning.
