It’s an American’s duty to participate in the judicial system as a juror. Some never get that summons in the mail and others, like myself, have been called in for jury duty multiple times and have been selected to serve on an actual trial.
The new Freevee Original Jury Duty, which premiered April 7, is a docu-style comedy series that “takes an exclusive, never-before-seen look at the highly classified experience of serving on a jury.” The catch with this show is that while many aspects of the process are accurate the case is fake and everyone involved are actors except one juror named Ronald.
James Marsden is one of the recognizable faces playing a heightened version of himself. Ben Seaward, Ron Song, Maria Russell, Ishmel Sahid, Rashida Olayiwola, Whitney Rice, Edy Modica, Kerry O’Neill, Trisha LaFache, Mekki Leeper, Ross Kimball, Pramode Kumar, Kirk Fox, David Brown, Cassandra Blair, Susan Berger, and Alan Barinholtz make up the ensemble cast.
Jury Duty is so hilarious especially if you ever participated in the process. There are so many things that are familiar when watching that I’m sure will make you laugh. The final two episodes of Jury Duty air Friday, April 21 on Freevee.
