Apple TV+ ‘Schmigadoon!’ Returns For A Darker and Sexier Season Two

I stumbled on the greatest show ever now that I got my Apple TV+ subscription back. Imagine finding yourself stuck in the middle of a real-life musical…that’s basically the premise of Schmigadoon! starring Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong.

Josh (Key) and Melissa (Strong) are a pair of doctors who find their relationship in a rut in season one, which premiered back in 2021. While on a couple’s retreat, Josh and Melissa get lost and stumble upon a magical town called Schmigadoon in which everyone acts like they’re in a classic musical.

Created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, Dove Cameron, Jaime Camil, Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Ariana DeBose, Ann Harada, Jane Krakowski, Martin Short, Fred Armisen, Liam Quiring-Nkindi, and Aaron Tveit appeared in season one. In the new season, Josh and Melissa find themselves in another relationship snag and want to return to Schmigadoon to get their spark back on track but this time they end up in the darker and sexier Schmicago, a world based on musicals from the 60s through the 80s.

Apart from Armisen and Quiring-Nkindi, all the cast members from season one will return playing new characters with Tituss Burgess and Patrick Page joining the season two cast of Schmigadoon!, streaming on April 5. Season one is streaming now on Apple TV+.
