Elizabeth Olsen Channels Candy Montgomery in ‘Love & Death’ Official Teaser

The twisted true crime story of Candy Montgomery is getting a second telling courtesy HBO Max.

Love & Death is the upcoming Max Original limited series starring Elizabeth Olsen as Candy Montgomery. The series follows Texan housewife Candy who has an affair with Allan Gore (Jesse Plemons), the husband of Candy’s church friend Betty Gore (Lily Rabe). Later Candy ends up killing Betty with an ax. Love & Death will depict the events leading to and following Betty’s murder in 6 episodes.

Last year in 2022, Hulu released the scripted true crime drama Candy starring Jessica Biel as the title character. Not only does Biel favor Candy Montgomery, but she did an outstanding job in the role. I adore Elizabeth Olsen, but she has quite a performance to follow.

Love & Death premieres April 27 on HBO Max.
