On Wednesdays we wear black! Netflix’s wildly popular series Wednesday, centered on the upbringings of The Addams Family’s daughter of darkness, gets a second season announcement.
Starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Wednesday is a series that follows Wednesday’s first year at Nevermore Academy as she hones in on her supernatural gifts and tries to solve the mystery of a creature killing locals. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Gwendoline Christie, and Christina Ricci all had key roles in the Tim Burton-directed series on Netflix.
The announcement came at the start of the weekend. Fans of the show, myself included, knew another season was imminent so it wasn’t a matter of IF it was getting renewed but WHEN was the announcement coming and how much will be revealed when it came. One thing we do know is more “torture” is on the way.
Wednesday season 1 co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough told Tudum, “We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore. We just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.” Naturally, Ortega will be back as the deadpan pigtail Goth girl icon, but no word on who else signed on and what new additions will be made. Stay tuned to GGB for updates throughout the production process.
Season 1 of Wednesday is now available to stream on Netflix.
