Dracula’s Loyal Henchman Tries To Break Free From His Boss in ‘Renfield’

Author Bram Stoker created the character Dracula in his 1897 Gothic horror novel named after the notorious vampire. Since then the story of Dracula has been adapted in many ways, but we rarely get to see what goes on with his loyal aide and servant Renfield. In the upcoming film we’ll get to see.

Nicholas Hoult stars as Dracula’s (Nicolas Cage) tortured aide in “Renfield.” In the film “Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency,” reads the official synposis.

Directed by Chris McKay with a screenplay by Ryan Ridley based on an original idea by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, “Renfield” also stars Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, and Shohreh Aghdashloo.

“Renfield” comes to theaters on April 14, 2023.
