When things start to get serious in relationships the conversation about meeting the folks is the next step. That can either be a seamless interaction or it could be a disaster. Lucky for us, in films, those meetings are always hilarious.
Directed by Kenya Barris and co-written by Barris and Jonah Hill, “You People” stars Jonah Hill and Lauren London as a newly in love couple who “find themselves confronting societal expectations and generational differences amidst their families’ clashing cultures,” when they all meet. Eddie Murphy and Nia Long play London’s parents and Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Duchovny play Hill’s parents.
The official teaser shows what happens when Hill’s character meets his girlfriend’s parents at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffle House. Where does it go from there? Find out next month.
You People comes to Netflix on January 27, 2023.
