The millennial diva is going to be a mom!
For 20 years Keke Palmer has made monumental waves in the entertainment world covering everything from television, film, Broadway, and the music industry, but now the 29-year-old is taking on another major role, a mom. Over the weekend Palmer hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time with musical guest SZA. In her monologue, she talked about working in the business for so long and what she learned. Then she addressed a rumor that has been swirling around about her recently.
“I’m especially glad to be here though because there’s some rumors going around. People have been in my comments saying Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant and I want to set the record straight. I am,” Palmer said with a big smile as she revealed her baby bump. Palmer is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Darius Daulton. “I got to say though it is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you, but it’s even worse when they’re correct. I was trying so hard to kept it on the down low because I got a lot of stuff going on. People kept coming up to me, congratulations. I’m like shh can yall stop I got a liquor sponsorship on the line. Let the check clear then we can get to the damn baby shower,” she joked.
Palmer finished her monologue by saying how excited and blessed she is to be expecting her first baby wrapping it with one of her infamous catchphrases. “When I first got into comedy and I dreamed of standing on this stage I asked myself, Keke who will you be? Will you be like a Maya Rudolph, Eddie Murphy, a Kristen Wiig type? And now that I’m here I can tell you exactly who I am. Baby, I’m Keke Palmer.”
