It’s only a matter of time until Netflix announces that its new hit series Wednesday will be coming back for a second season; it’s that good. While we wait allow me to boast about how amazing the series is.
Jenna Ortega takes the helm as The Addams Family daughter of disdain aka Wednesday Addams in Wednesday on Netflix. The series follows Wednesday getting expelled from normal high school after a “prank” gone wrong and is sent to Nevermore Academy, a school run by Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie) devoted to educating the deemed outcasts of society. While at the school Wednesday hones in on her psychic abilities as she tries to solve the mystery of a monster wreaking havoc on the nearby town.
According to data from Netflix, Wednesday has beaten out Stranger Things season 4 as the streaming service’s most hours viewed in a week English-language TV series. The show logged 341.2 million hours viewed in a week since its November 23rd debut. Stranger Things season 4 brought in 335.01 million during the week of May 30 – June 5.
I knew I wouldn’t hate watching Wednesday, but I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. It was funny, suspenseful, and had a lot of unexpected heartwarming moments. Yup, I cried. Check out my full review on Popternative.com HERE.
