(Season 2, Episode 2)
“So, I Was Watching…” The Twilight Saga
Author Stephenie Meyer changed the game when she turned her dream of a human girl and a vampire falling in love into a pop culture phenomenon we know as The Twilight Saga. In 2005 Twilight was published and later expanded into three more novels (New Moon (2006), Eclipse (2007), and Breaking Dawn (2008)). Of course, those books were turned into films kicking off with “Twilight” in 2008 launching Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner into household names with their on-screen alias’ Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black not too far behind.
The final film in the franchise “Breaking Dawn Part 2” premiered in theaters 10 years ago today (November 16, 2012) marking the end of the beloved Twilight Saga films. In the new episode of “So, I Was Watching…” podcast two Twihards look back at the saga and discuss the impact the film contributed to fandom culture, the meltdown of seeing the infamous “Breaking Dawn Part 2” battle, imprinting, and more.
