No matter how you spin it clowns are creepy! My dislike of clowns came from the 1988 camp horror flick “Killer Klowns from Outer Space.” It’s literally the cause of my recurring nightmares and even if I watch the movie a little bit they will show up in the dreams.
The concept of the clown dates back to the Fifth Dynasty of Egypt around 2400 BC. The idea of the being was often associated with being a fool, or a jester, used for comedic purposes. So when did clowns start being viewed as evil? In the 1940s the DC Comic character The Joker was introduced as a master of mayhem and later in the 90s Pennywise was introduced on screen in Stephen King’s novel to mini-series “It” and the fear of clowns really went into overload.
Throughout pop culture, the clowns got creepier and the fear grew stronger. Below are the 2022 creepiest clowns of pop culture.

Don’t let the smile fool you, this is a clown you want to stay away from.
