The 74th Primetime Emmys awards aired on Monday, September 12 on NBC with host Kenan Thompson. The event celebrated the best in television over the past year with many first-time nominees and returning nominees. Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso took home a number of awards along with HBO’s The White Lotus.
The big highlights of the night were when Sheryl Lee Ralph won her first Emmy for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Barbara Howard in Abbott Elementary. Series creator Quinta Brunson also took home her first Emmy for Writing for a Comedy Series. Zendaya also made history by becoming the youngest to win an Emmy twice for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Rue Bennett in Euphoria. Lizzo is halfway to an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) with her Competition Program win with Amazon Prime’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls. It was a big night indeed.
