Back in 2009, we met a Romanian cherubic “child” named Esther in “Orphan” who turned out to be a 33-year-old psychopath really named Leena Klammer with a history of infiltrating families and destroying their lives, but have you ever wondered how Esther escaped the psychiatric facility and ended up in an orphanage in the first place? “Orphan: First Kill” will explore that.
In “Orphan: First Kill,” Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman) travels to America after escaping an Estonian psychiatric facility and impersonates the missing daughter of the Albright family. Tricia (Julia Stiles), the matriarch of the family, seems to be the first one to realize something is off with her “daughter” and begins to act accordingly but knowing Esther she’s not going down without a fight, or kill.
Rossif Sutherland, Matthew Finlan, and Hiro Kanagawa all appear in “Orphan: First Kill” which comes to theaters, on digital and streams on Paramount+ on August 19.
