“What’s a bad miracle?” is the tagline that’s been associated with Jordan Peele’s upcoming film “Nope.” Viewers have already come to the conclusion that “Nope” stands for “not of planet Earth” and it’s evident from the final trailer for the film that they may be spot on.

Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer star as OJ and Emerald Haywood in “Nope” as siblings running a ranch that trains horses that star in Hollywood films. When their father is killed by an unknown entity, OJ and Emerald make it their mission to capture alien life on film in a major way and sell it for profit. They enlist the help of Antlers Holst (Michael Wincott), a Fox Mulder type of character, and tech employee Angel Torres (Brandon Perea) to get the aliens on camera. Steven Yeun also stars in the film as some type of host for a live show demonstrating “an absolute spectacle.”

The final trailer seems to lay everything out in the film. Aliens are invading Earth and capturing people for whatever reason, but there has to be something deeper going on right? Knowing Peele’s past horror work with “Get Out” and “Us,” fans of the writer/director are expecting a twist and so am I.

“What happens next?” Find out next month. “Nope” comes to theaters on July 22, 2022.
