If you love Black Mirror then this upcoming Netflix film will be right up your alley for viewing enjoyment. Chris Hemsworth stars as state-of-the-art penitentiary head Steve Abnesti in “Spiderhead,” a film directed by Joseph Kosinski set in the near future where convicts are offered a chance to shorten their sentences by participating in an experimental trial as medical subjects.

One of the drugs that the inmates are given has the ability to alter feelings of love and attraction. In an exclusive clip for “Spiderhead” released during Netflix’s Geeked Week, Steve Abnesti is sitting next to Verlaine (Mark Paguio) as they are about to watch an experiment for the “love drug” unfold. Jeff (Miles Teller) and Heather (Tess Haubrich) are asked how attracted they are to each other. The pair don’t seem to be that interested in one another until the dosage of drugs is increased and then they can’t keep their hands off each other.

Based on The New Yorker short story, “Escape From Spiderhead,” by George Saunders, “Spiderhead” also stars Jurnee Smollett, Charles Parnell, Nathan Jones, BeBe Bettencourt, and Angie Milliken. The film comes to Netflix on Friday, June 17.
