True Crime Story of Michelle Carter Comes To Hulu In ‘The Girl From Plainville’

“It was the case that left us with more questions than answers.” Hulu’s The Girl From Plainville transforms Elle Fanning into Michelle Carter in the original series inspired by the true crime story that shocked the nation back in 2015.

In 2015 Michelle Carter, 17 at the time, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for using text messages to encourage her 18-year-old boyfriend Conrad Roy III to commit suicide in 2014. The case was certainly unprecedented as it was the first time something like that became so public and was considered a crime. The Hulu series will recount the events leading up to the crime.

Colton Ryan will play Conrad Roy III with Cara Buono and Chloë Sevigny playing key roles in the show.
