GGB’s 25 Days of Christmas Watch List: How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Merry Christmas!

It’s only right that I end GGB’s 25 Days of Christmas Watch List with one of the most iconic modern-day Christmas movies. 21 years ago Jim Carrey brought Dr. Seuss’s Grinch storybook character to live-action life in the 2000 Ron Howard directed film “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

The story of the Grinch takes place in Whoville, a picture-perfect winter wonderland town inside a snowflake. Each year the Who’s excitedly await Christmas while the Grinch watches from atop his lonely hill hating every minute of it. This year Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen) is old enough to wonder why the Grinch lives in solitude and invites him to be a part of Christmas. Things go horribly wrong before they go delightfully right.

Jim Carrey’s performance in “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is so good! We all know how great Carrey is at comedy, especially physical comedy, but he completely transformed into the Grinch that he made this role one of the most iconic roles of his career. This film will remain a holiday classic for generations. Where to watch: Peacock
