GGB’s 25 Days of Christmas Watch List: Krampus

Twas the eve eve of Christmas and all through the house, all the creatures were stirring, but it wasn’t a mouse. Only a few more posts on GGB’s 25 Days of Christmas Watch List and now it’s time to share the story of the holiday “Krampus.”

Ever wondered what happened to the people with no Christmas spirit. The ones that end up with coal in their stockings because they are naughty? In Central and Eastern Alpine folklore the tale Krampus describes a horned figure that comes on Christmas to punish the misbehaved. The 2015 film depicts just that.

When a dysfunctional family comes together over the holidays, a young member of the family Max (Emjay Anthony) loses all his Christmas joy and unknowingly unleashes an ancient evil that punishes those who don’t believe. Beloved holiday icons become the figures of nightmares as the family tries to band together and survive the night. “You better watch out.” Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner, Allison Tolman, Conchata Ferrell, Stefania Lavie Owen and Krista Stadler make up the ensemble cast. The combination of horror and holiday will always top my watch list. The ending of this film keeps me puzzled til this day, so look out for the twist. Where to watch: FX Now
