Going home to meet your significant other’s family is stressful enough, but doing it during the holidays has to be next level.
Back in 2005 on this day “The Family Stone” premiered with an all-star cast featuring Sarah Jessica Parker, Diane Keaton, Rachel McAdams, Claire Danes, Dermot Mulroney, Craig T. Nelson, Luke Wilson, Tyrone Giordano, Brian White, Elizabeth Reaser, and Paul Schneider.
The film follows a conservative woman named Meredith Morton (Sarah Jessica Parker) who is going home for the holidays with her boyfriend Everett Stone (Dermot Mulroney) and trying to fit in with his unconventional family. Everett has plans to ask for the family ring (the family stone) to propose, but his family knows Meredith is not right for him. Drama ensues. And what are the holidays without drama, family secrets, and a few tears? The gift-giving scene towards the end of the movie always makes me cry. I love this movie because at the center of this plot is the importance of family and appreciating them in all that they are. Where to watch: Peacock
