On December 20th the 1996 “Scream” film will celebrate its 25th anniversary. Next year, the franchise will continue with its fifth installment bringing back some OG’s and spilling new blood with fresh faces.
Fans have been anxiously waiting for the trailer to drop after countless teasers with first look photos. The wait is over and the official trailer is out! The 2022 “Scream” takes place 25 years after the “streak of brutal murders” that disrupted Woodsboro and forever changed the lives of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Gale Weathers ( Courteney Cox), and Dewey Riley (David Arquette), who are all reprising their roles and can be seen in the trailer.

The trailer is paying homage to the original and bringing new life to the franchise but switching up the rules. I’m not the biggest “Scream” fan, but I’ve seen all the films in the franchise, more than once, and thoroughly enjoy them. “Scream 5” I’m ready!
Marley Shelton will reprise her “Scream 4” character with Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Dylan Minnette, Jack Quaid, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sonia Ammar, Mikey Madison, Mason Gooding, Kyle Gallner, Chester Tam, and Reggie Conquest making up the rest of the core cast.
“Scream” comes to theaters on January 14, 2022.
