I remember back in 2019 when actress Selma Blair did an exclusive interview with Good Morning America speaking with Robin Roberts to discuss her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis publicly for the first time. I recall sobbing my eyes out because I fondly remembered Blair as the bubbly, naive socialite Cecile Caldwell from “Cruel Intentions” and the straightforward law student Vivian from “Legally Blonde,” but to see her so open about this devastating disease that rocked her life while remaining so upbeat was incredibly heartwarming.
Fast forward two years and Blair is getting really deep into her diagnosis and sharing her journey with the world. In “Introducing, Selma Blair,” directed by Rachel Fleit, the starlet holds nothing back as the film explores “complex issues ranging from dissecting deep-rooted myths about beauty, and the collective fear around disability and mortality,” according to the official synopsis of the project. The trailer shows how Blair’s life has been changed since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and the struggles she faces maintaining motherhood and remaining herself. I know this is going to be a sob fest for me.
“Introducing, Selma Blair” comes to theaters on October 15 and streams on discovery+ October 21.
