‘Impeachment: American Crime Story’ Takes Viewers Back To The 1998 Clinton-Lewinsky Scandal

The official trailer for the anticipated upcoming season of FX’s American Crime Story has dropped and people can’t stop talking about Sarah Paulson; for good reason. It took me a minute after I watched the trailer to put together who she actually was.

Following previous installments: The People v. O.J. Simpson and The Assassination of Gianni Versace, Impeachment: American Crime Story will examine one of America’s most infamous modern crimes and bring a new perspective to the narrative. I find American Crime Story to be very fascinating because while I may know of the crime the season focuses on I was way too young to really grasp what was going on while this stuff was actually happening so it’s interesting to see the story unfold.

In Impeachment, the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal is on display showing the events that led up to the first impeachment of a U.S. President in over a century. The story is told through three women who centered the controversy: Monica Lewinsky, Linda Tripp, and Paula Jones (played by Beanie Feldstein, Sarah Paulson, and Annaleigh Ashford respectively). Edie Falco, Clive Owens, Cobie Smulders, Billy Eichner, and Margo Martindale also play key roles in Impeachment: American Crime Story premiering on FX on September 7th at 10pm EST.
