Mike Flanagan is a new age name in the horror genre with work like “Oculus,” “Hush,” “Doctor Sleep,” and “Ouija: Origin of Evil” under his belt. His hit Netflix series’ The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor has solidified Flanagan as one of the streaming service’s top creators. His upcoming project Midnight Mass is looking like it will follow suit with his thrilling delivery of storytelling.
Midnight Mass is set on a small, isolated town called Crockett Island where the presence of a “disgraced young man” (Zach Gilford) and a “charismatic priest” (Hamish Linklater) collide to bring a number of unexplained, miraculous events to the community. Of course, all is not what it seems and disturbing omens begin to surface threatening a sinister agenda for the town.
The Haunting of alums Kate Siegel, Henry Thomas, Annabeth Gish, Rahul Kohli, and Robert Longstreet will appear in the show along with Rahul Abburi, Crystal Balint, Matt Biedel, Alex Essoe, Kristin Lehman, Igby Rigney, Annarah Cymone, Samantha Sloyan, and Michael Trucco.
The 7-episode show comes to Netflix just in time for Spooky Season on Friday, September 24th.
