Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) is coming back to our television screens this fall. Once a blood splatter analysis moonlighting as a serial killer, the “reformed” Dexter is trying his best to keep his dark passenger in check in the revived limited series. Dexter: New Blood is coming to Showtime this fall.
During Comic Con at Home 2021, Showtime revealed the official sneak peek and the release date for Dexter: New Blood. The show will pick up 10 years following the events in Miami where Dexter disappeared after dumping his brain-dead sister Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) in the ocean during Hurricane Laura. Dexter currently resides in Iron Lake, New York under an alias attempting to live a low-key life until his old self starts to slowly resurface.
Former Dexter cast members Jennifer Carpenter and John Lithgow are expected to return, but with both characters dead it’ll be interesting to see how they show up in the series. Julia Jones, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah, Jack Alcott, and Clancy Brown will join the cast.
Dexter ran for 8 seasons from 2006-2013. The new season will have 10 one-hour episodes. Dexter: New Blood premieres on Showtime Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 9pm.
