Did I miss the memo where the blind man from “Don’t Breathe” is a good guy? Granted that movie came out in 2016 and I don’t remember many of the details, but didn’t he have a girl captivate in his basement and try to inseminate another? It seems in “Don’t Breathe 2” not only does the blind man get a name but some redemption.
The Fede Alvarez/Rodo Sayagues written (Rodo Sayagues directed) film stars Stephen Lang as Norman Nordstrom aka the blind man as he faces another home invasion, only this time a little girl he has some sort of bond with is kidnaped and he squares off with the invaders to get her back. The conversation on Twitter has followed my earlier narrative. Is this film shaping Norman to be a hero? Writer-Producer Alavarez answered that question on Twitter responding to the backlash tweeting, “No, he’s not a Hero on this one, not even and Anti-Hero. He’s an ANTI-VILLAIN.” Is that like when a bully doesn’t like other bullies and then stands up for the person being bullied? (I just used so many variations of bully)

While I did enjoy the first “Don’t Breathe” I don’t know if I’m that interested in this storyline to want to see a follow-up. Certainly not go to the movies to see, but maybe the trailer will make you feel different.
“Don’t Breathe 2” comes to theaters on August 13, 2021.
