XoXo: The HBO Max ‘Gossip Girl’ Official Trailer Releases and Reveals Premiere Date

Xoxo? More like XoXNO for me.

I’ve had bittersweet feelings about HBO Max’s Gossip Girl since it was initially announced. First, it’s way too soon for this show to be getting a reboot. The original cast isn’t even old to the point where they could just have done a new show with them or at least give us a reunion, made for TV movie, or something. Second, I am not feeling this cast. At all. I’m just not getting any type of Upper East Side vibes from them. There were photos released showing the cast and I wasn’t excited. I figured I would wait until the trailer to really form an opinion and still nothing.

The official trailer features the cast in a party setting revealing them one at a time as Whitney Peak’s Zoya Lott enters. Kristen Bell’s iconic voiceover can be heard setting the scene on how no one is safe from her online persona. “Secrets, secrets are no fun… unless they come from Gossip Girl. She’s back and badder than ever. See you on the steps,” reads the trailer description.

I must be so overly in love with the original Gossip Girl cast that I can’t even fathom new people stepping into the GG universe, but I’m still going to watch this show, so let me shut up.

Gossip Girl streams July 8 only on HBOMax.
