Can you remain calm in a dire situation to take home a cash prize? Amazon Prime’s upcoming series Panic tests that theory as they combine “The Hunger Games” and “Nerve” for the dramatic thriller.
The 10-episode one-hour show, written and created by Lauren Oliver (who wrote the 2014 bestselling novel the series is based on) will take place in the small town of Carp, Texas. Every summer graduating seniors participate in a series of difficult challenges to gain a huge cash prize at the end of the games. The main rule is not to panic, hence the title of the show. The recent game being played in the show’s timeline is way more intense than past ones and is set to reveal deep, dark secrets in the process.
I’ll admit the trailer doesn’t look that exciting, but I know from experience that Amazon Prime tends to have whack trailers and awesome shows! I thought The Wilds wouldn’t be my cup of tea, but after viewing that show I can’t WAIT for season 2. Prime does have a good roster of original content that doesn’t get a lot of promotion and I think Panic is one of those shows. I stumbled on this by accident. I’ll give it a one-episode try like I tend to give most new shows. I’ll be tweeting if I like it.
Panic comes to Amazon Prime Video on May 28th.
