Apple TV+ Series ‘Calls’ Is A Mind Bending Show You Should Watch

If you’re anything like me and love Sci-Fi, Thriller type shows like The Twilight ZoneThe Outer Limits, or Tales From the Darkside then I got a show for you! And if you’re not into any of those then you still need to check out this show because it’s that good.

Apple TV+ is still a relatively new streaming service so I feel the content, good content, is slim, but every once in a while I stumble on good original shows (i.e. The Morning Show, Servant, and Defending Jacob) I feel like I was looking at Aubrey Plaza’s IMDb page to see what the name of new Guy Ritchie film that she’s in is called and saw that she was in a recent project called Calls on Apple TV+. That’s how I stumbled on the show. I looked at the description and was intrigued. It read, “Told through a series of interconnected phone conversation, it chronicles the mysterious story of a group of strangers whose lives are thrown into disarray in the lead-up to an apocalyptic event.”

One thing about me is I love an interconnected storyline where things come full circle. I was IN! Created by Fede Alvarez and based on the Canal+ series by Timothée Hochet, Calls has 9 episodes with each running under 20 minutes and get this…it’s only audio. Yes no picture, but the audio waves of the people speaking. It’s like being on a conference call on mute and just listening to what’s going on, so you’ll have to use your imagination with this show.  The first three episodes are FREE and then you’ll need an Apple TV+ subscription ($4.99 monthly, $49.99 yearly).

Aubrey Plaza, Rosario Dawson, Nick Jonas, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Danny Huston, Riley Keough, Laura Harrier, Lily Collins, Judy Greer, Jaeden Martell, Karen Gillan, Pedro Pascal, Ben Schwartz, Jennifer Tilly and more lend their voices to the series and it’s so good! Quick binge, compelling stories, and a mind bending ending that will stick with you. I highly recommend.

Watch the trailer for Calls in the clip below and stream the series now available on Apple Tv+. If you watch the first three free episodes let me know what you think in the comments.
