Doja Cat Brings The Silhouette Challenge To Her ‘Streets’ Music Video

As the kids today say, Doja Cat doesn’t miss when it comes to a visual!

Clearly I’m a fan of Doja Cat since I’ve been writing about her quite a bit on GGB. I’m not really into the rap genre, but especially not rap in today’s standards, but I love me some Doja. Her “Streets” single off her second studio album Hot Pink is particularly one of my favorite tracks; “Streets” and “Addiction” I can run back on repeat for hours.

I’m not sure if “Streets” became the latest single from the album intentionally or if it was the viral success of the track from the TikTok “Silhouette Challenge” (These aren’t some of the best I’ve seen, but you get the point). Either way I’m glad Doja Cat decided to do a visual for the track and incorporate the TikTok challenge. She did the same thing for “Say So” when the song got TikTok famous because of a dance.

The video picks right up from the teaser with cab driver Kofi Siriboe checking out Doja in a store window. Following a sexy lap dance, Doja’s world transforms into post apocalyptic with her performing on a destroyed cab and slaying her first verse. Caught in a spider’s web, Kofi is wrapped in a nest as prey with Doja slinging closer and closer during her rap verse of the song. This visual perfectly captures the vibe of the song like all of Doja’s videos do. Kudos to her creative team.
